Welcome to the Icetips ftp area!

If you have some files that you would like to share with the general 
Clarion community, the best way is to upload those files to a ftp 
server.  Icetips has one of the largest Clarion dedicated ftp site in 
the world and anyone is welcome to upload to the /incoming area 
and of course download from it as well as the /puclic area.  In order 
for me and Rick to be able to manage this site, it's very important 
that files that are uploaded are packed (zipped) in a pkzip/pkunzip 
compatible format and that a text file with short description is 
uploaded along with the .zip file.  The entire ftp site can now be
searched from the Icetips Knowledge Base and from late August the 
information from the /incoming are will be automatically updated daily,
but for descriptions etc. to be accurate, we must rely on a fairly
standard format for the text files.

The text file should have the same file name as the .zip file, 
and in English only please.  

For the text file I would reccommend the following format:

FILE:           <Name of the .zip file>
FILE SIZE:      <size of file in bytes>
FILE DATE:      <date stamp of the .zip file>
UPLOADED BY:    <name of the person uploading the file>
                <e-mail address>
AUTHOR:         <authors name>
TYPE:           <freeware, shareware etc.>
VERSION:        <version number if needed>
DESCRIPTION:    <short description>
COMMENTS:       <longer description and comments>

Just copy the text above to notepad or other text editor and
fill in the < > fields with your information.  

If no txt file is uploaded the zip file may be deleted when we 
move files to the public area.  We need to know what the zip files 
contains and we just don't have time to check them manually any more. 
 So please, if you want your files to get a "permanent recidency" at 
Icetips, create a txt file and upload it along with your zip file:)
