           for Clarion4. The exe is compiled as a standalone.

the program can do.


Simple Help Assistant Demo

Simple Help Assistant comes as a package consistng of:

1. Simple Help Assistant(SHA) Dll's(16 and 32 bit) for CW4.

2. One Global template for CW4 Clarion and ABC templates. No local
   compiles allowed. And a utility template to run from the
   application for the purpose of importing help ids into the
   simple help assistant DLL program.

3. Clarion for Dos 3.x help file extractor. Extracts all screen text and
   text from any ascii files called in the Clarion for Dos help file.
   Extracts into the same topspeed file format as the one used by Dll's
   above and EXE below. You can then use the CFD help file data in your
   CW programs with the simple help assistant program.

4. A stand alone EXE for creating help files. It creates Win help files
   like the Dll but you can name the data file that holds the help id
   information. The EXE resides in the \bin directory, so you can run
   it from any directory. You select the location of the data file or
   create a new data file. The Win help file gets created in the data
   files directory location. It automatically creates the CONTENTS help
   id but the remaining help ids are created by you. Great for quickly
   creating template help files, indexed information help files
   etc.

Microsoft's HC.EXE and HCRTF.EXE must be in the path for this demo program
to work. They are supplied with the demo.

Hot keys in demo Exe to bring up Simple Help Assistant(JJSHA4.DLL):

1. F2 = Hot key to edit help id of control or window with help id declared.

2. F3 = Hot key to the browse of simple help assistant.
     A. Here you make the Win Help file.
     B. You can edit each help id's memo.
     C. ** IMPORTANT **
        While in the JJSHA4.Dll you can press the F1 key to bring
        up help on the JJSHA4 program. Here you can read what the
        program does and read about the importing of help ids
        from your app. This is the help file to read to find out
        how the working program will work in your applications.

Steps to make a help file in the demo:

1. In the form or browse of the demo press the F2 key on the control or window
   and write anything into the help id's memo. When in the momo pressing
   F1 brings up the JJSHA.HLP help file.

2. Back in the demo Exe press the F3 key to bring up the browse of the
   JJSHA4.DLL. Write more into the memo's of each help id if wanted.
   While in the browse of the JJSHA4 program press the button to make
   a Win Help File. While in the browse you can press the F1 key to bring
   up help on the JJSHA4 program.

3. Press esc and go back into the demo Exe and press the F1 key to bring up
   the help file just created for the Exe.

4. The registered version has information about the Win Help file to enter
   before you do a compile.

5. The help file JJSHA4.HLP comes up when you press F1 when in the
   DLL with the form for the memo or the DLL browse. This help file was
   created with the program and tells what the JJSHA4 program does.
